Disney is Honoring the Military With Free Theme Park Admission in 2009

Being by one of the best military base in the country, I want to make sure that anyone in our metro area was aware of the support Disney is extending to those that serve.  Hope you can take advantage of this offer.  YOU DESERVE IT.

Thank you Jim & Maria Hart for sharing this information.

Disney is Honoring the Military With Free Theme Park Admission in 2009!

You read that right!  If you are active or retired military, then you have quite an opportunity here.  Disney World and Disneyland both are offering FREE, multi-day passes to you!

This offer has been appropriately named "Disney's Armed Forces Salute".   With this offer, active and retired U.S. military personnel, including active and retired members of the United States Coast Guard and activated members of the National Guard or Reservists, can enjoy complimentary, multi-day admission into Disney's U.S. theme parks, great rates at select Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort hotels, and additional special ticket offers for family members and friends.

They have a special reason for making such a grand offer.  As stated on their site, "For so many of the men and women who serve in our U.S. military, time together with their families is cause enough for celebration," said Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "We are grateful for their service and hope 'Disney's Armed Forces Salute' will allow our troops to create wonderful, magical memories with their family and friends."

Now the offer that is available depends on which park you plan on visiting.  The offer for Disneyland is Disney photo by Erin Gifford of CouponCravings.comavailable through June 12, 2009, while the offer for Walt Disney World extends through December 23, 2009.  So if you can't make it to Disneyland in the next few months, you can still travel to Florida to take advantage of this awesome deal!

Disneyland in California is offering each active or retired member of the U.S. military one complimentary three-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" Park Hopper ticket valid for admission to both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure parks.  Until June 12th, active or retired U.S. military personnel are also able to make a one-time purchase of adult or child three-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" Park Hopper tickets for up to five family members or friends for the price of an adult 1-Day Park Hopper ticket.  I'm not sure what that price is, but you're essentially getting three days for the price of one.

Walt Disney World in Florida is doing something slightly different.  Each active or retired member of the U.S. military may obtain one complimentary 5-day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute" ticket with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More options.  So you get two additional days and can get into all of the water parks!

The Walt Disney World ticket is valid for five days of admission into the four Walt Disney World theme parks, plus a total of five visits to a choice of a Disney water park, DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park or certain other attractions. During this offer period, active or retired U.S. military personnel may also make a one-time purchase of up to a maximum of five 5-Day "Disney's Armed Forces Salute Companion" tickets (one theme park per day) for $99 per ticket, plus tax, for family members or friends. Although this ticket for family members and friends does not include either the Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options, this ticket can be upgraded to add either such option, or both, for an additional $25, plus tax, per option.

Can you say Golden Opportunity?  What a wonderful chance Disney is giving our finest men and women to take a break and really enjoy time with their families at either Disneyland or Disney World.

What people buy vs what they want...

Do people buy things based on what others will think of it after they are done it with?  Or do you buy it because you like it and it fits you?

Would you ever go to a store, say Target and buy a shirt that you kind of like but think someone will pay may for it at a yard sale in a few years?  Of course not.  You buy the shirt because you like it and it suites your needs.  You cannot make every choice based on what you may get in the future.

Why would you buy a house that does not suite your needs just because you think someone will be more apt to buy it in a few years?

You should buy a home because you love it and it is what YOU want, fits YOUR life.  Do not short change yourself because you are thinking of others.  Don't get me wrong, a home is a great investment.  Just make sure YOU are happy.

Who knows what someone will want?  There are a lot of people out there that may just like what you like.  Who knows what the future may hold.

Happy house hunting!  Make it fun.

Little Souix Scout Ranch Tragedy

This evening a tornado has hit a boy scout camp just north of Omaha, Little Sioux Scout Ranch. Many scouts are hurt and there are 4 fatalities. We have a dear friend's young (13 years old) scout at that camp tonight. We pray they are safe and reunited soon. There is no information coming from the camp at this time. We ask that everyone pray for these boys and their families. They will need a lot of support in the coming days, weeks, and years. Any support is welcomed.

I hope these boys and their families feel the support and compassion from this giving community and nation.

What a tragedy! My heart goes out to everyone.

Vinyl vs. Laminate

What is the difference? Which one has more value?  Is one better than the other?  Which application is best?  Both are highly recommended in the kitchen and bath area.

I am finding conflicting information on which is better. Some say vinyl tears easily other say it is strong. What kind of value does the flooring add to a home? It is a lot to a buyer walking in a home. Flooring needs to look good!

I was not even sure what the difference was between vinyl and laminate. But here are a few differences I found. If you have more, please share.

Laminate flooring trys to look like natural designs in their finishes. Most laminate is water proof and can be installed over old vinyl. Manufactures and store reps tell you to add a water proofing mat to lay under the laminate to help its effectiveness. Most laminate is guaranteed for 10 years to life on staining and fading.

Vinyl can be bought in sheets to do a room or tiles. Vinyl is said to be resilient, it can bounce back from weight. In recent years, technology has worked on making this product better as not to tear or rip as easy. They are trying to compete and change what seems to be the biggest down fall.

The differences are there. Information is hard to find and conflicting. Even after my research, what do I know? Does one add more value to a home? Not a lot of technical information but I still know when a floor looks good and when it does not.

Exclusive Right to Represent Buyer Agreement

Exclusive Right to Represent Buyer Agreement...

What do you think of that? Having a client sign an exclusive right to represent a buyer agreement, is it the right thing to do? Will I scare buyers away just because they are not sure? How do you explain what and why we need to have it? What if they had an agreement and a bad agent in the past? It is going to effect how we work together.

I am a good agent and represent a buyer very well. I do all I can to represent them. Their interests are first, I want to get them what they need, want. I think each of our relationships are unique and professional. It is why I am in this business.

I want clients to sign an agreement that protects me. I want them to show me they mean business and they will treat me with respect in this emotional decision. I want to ask my clients to sign an exclusive right to represent a buyer agreement.

Relations are difficult and take time. How can this process work better? How can I make sure after I drive a couple around town for 2 weeks and work many hours, they won't stop in an open house and buy from someone else?

I am a great sales woman if the sale is right for my client. I want to protect them as well as myself. How do you do? How do you recommend I do it?

How many messages can you leave?

How many messages can you leave a client before you just stop. I may not return a call immediately or email right away but I will by the end of the day. I have a clean return contact slate each morning. I feel like I start a new day instead obsessing about something and not address something.

I have client(s) that I have left messages for and emails but no response. I have had a number of interactions with these people but all of sudden no return calls. Our last conversation was pleasant and we were just waiting on them to do something....

I just don't want to stop trying but I think there is time when I have to say enough is enough. If they want me they can call me. After a week and a half and 3 phone messages and two emails, I guess I should just stop. Right? Or wrong?
